HARD DRIVE IS NOT RECOGNIZE AFTER SERVICE PACK
It has a 4.3 gig har drive on it (Maxtor) The bios recognizes the 4.3 gig drive but Windows reports the C drive is 1.99 gig. Do I need to start over and fdisk and format the drive? Assuming the bios can handle large disks and LBA, yes. When fdisk asks about large drives answer yes.

The most likely reason is that it is using the FAT16 file system rather than the FAT32 file system....FAT16 only supports partitions up to 2GB.

Also, the RAID utility program (FastCheck Monitor utility) shows the addition #2 and #3 hard drives properly in the RAID configuration. The problem is: No drive letter is assigned to the #2 hard drive and therefore Windows XP will not recognize the additional hard drives that are used to store the data files.

fdisk does not recognize hard drive
If I boot to a Win98 floppy I can interact with the CD no problem, but of course not the hard drive since it is formatted as NTFS. I now don't know what I wiped in the registry and have no backups. All I know is that if I enable my CD-RW in the BIOS Windows won't boot in any way shape or form.

Getting BIOS to recognize size of hard drive
I did a clean install of MCE this morning, and prior to the install i removed my slave drive (containing mp3 and my family photos) so they wouldnt get over written by accident. The install went great, actually better then i expected. I plugged my slave back in and MCE wont recognize it. Its not listed in the Disk

I had a 20 gig hard drive installed with Win XP Pro as the primary master. I recently purchased a 40 gig hard drive and set it as primary master with a CD burner as primary slave. It is a riser off the main board with the words CD/Hard Drive printed above it. That is the only spot to plug in any IDE cable. The hard drive is set as Master, it's plugged in correctly and spinning(I can hear it) but the auto de tection just stops on the primary master drive detection and just sits there forever. I think this should at least detect something, even if only the first 32GB are usuable.
